• Sant Kabir Nagar district was formed on 5th September 1997. It's consists of complete Tahsil Khalilabad of former District Basti, 131 villages of Tahsil Basti and all 161 villages of development block Santha of Tahsil Bansi of the District Siddharth Nagar.
• According to census 2011 this district has a population of 1,714,350 and sex ratio is 969/1000(female/male) and literacy rate is 69% and, its population growth rate was 20.71% over the decade 2001 to 2011.
• The head office district administrative and district court is at Khalilabaad. For an effective administration, the district administration divided into 3 tahasils, such as Mehdawal, Khalilabaad, and Ghanghata.
• To monitor and execution of development scheme, Sant Kabir Nagar further divided into 9 development blocks such as Mehdawal,Semariyan,Khalilabaad,Nath Nagar, Hainsar Bazar, Belhar,Kali Pauli, and Sotha.
• The total area of the district is 1659.15 km^2, and population density in this area is 1000km^2 according to the census of 2011. National Highway 29 is a major highway goes across this district which connects Nagaland to Assam.
